COVE HOUSE

Nestled in the woods of North Vancouver’s Deep Cove  this small modern home is designed for the worst that a west coast climate can throw at it. The home is laid out on a simple L-shaped plan opening up to a densely wooded park beyond.

Clad in corrugated metal siding the home is not afraid to incorporate what is normally an industrial cladding. The juxtaposition of wood windows with metal makes for a unique expression that is both visually pleasing and pragmatically effective.

The home is simple in its layout and is defined by an L-shaped plan. A dramatic spiral stair animates the entry foyer and divides the more private spaces of guest room and den from the more bustling areas of kitchen, dining and living. The home is small in footprint at a very efficient 2000sf.
